Services
As a family dentist, Dr. Scammahorn and his dental team at Westmoore Dental Studio offer a wide range of services for patients of all ages.
In addition to providing you and your family with regular cleanings, our routine check-ups help spot and treat any potential teeth, gum, and mouth issues, so you can rest assured that all your preventive dental concerns are being addressed.
We’d love to have your whole family as patients at our dental practice. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions regarding family dental care or what next steps you should talk to maintain, improve, or repair your smile. For your convenience, we offer block appointments to make it easier than ever for your whole family to see the dentist in one go. Ask us about this option when booking your next appointment!
Preventative Dentistry
Getting regular professional cleanings and exams at least twice a year is the only way to remove plaque that has hardened into tarter. You may not be aware that this has occurred.
Your dental professional will need to evaluate and clean or “scale” your teeth to remove the tarter above and below the gum line.
Educational tools may be given to patients that need assistance in those hard to reach areas. Also, gentle measurements of the bone are done once a year to diagnose advanced gum disease.
A head, neck, and soft tissue evaluation are also performed to rule out any signs of oral cancer. All the above measures are done at your cleaning appointment to help you maintain a healthy smile.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Ready to make over your smile?
From simple whitening treatments that add the finishing touch to your teeth to more intensive treatments that grant you the new smile you’ve always wanted, Westmoore Dental Studio offers a variety of cosmetic dental services. With our range of financing options, dazzling teeth are within reach.
BRACES
Even though full braces are not done in our office, you will need a referral to an orthodontic office. The staff at Westmoore Dental Studio will be more than happy to assist you in finding the best orthodontist that fits your needs.
TOOTH WHITENING
There are several ways to “bleach” your teeth. Professional white strips are an inexpensive way for young people just getting out of braces to enhance their beautiful straight smile. In-office GLO whitening is a great way to whiten your smile with little to no sensitivity and instant results. To maintain and enhance your in-office whitening experience pair it with the GLO Pro take home whitening kit that lets you bleach like a pro from the comfort of your home.
BONDING
Bonding is usually done on a small space that needs to be closed. A tooth colored composite material is matched to your existing shade and bonded to your natural tooth. There are both pros and cons of bonding. Bonding is very affordable compared to veneers. Though your results will look great at the time of the procedure, over time the bonding will collect stain and can discolor.
VENEERS
A veneer is a total cosmetic procedure and is used to whiten, straighten, or repair broken or small teeth. A veneer is a thin, translucent coating made out of porcelain.
The tooth is slightly roughened and the veneer is bonded to the existing tooth. The results can be life changing. Your dental professional can advise you if you are a candidate for veneers.
FULL PORCELAIN CROWN
A full porcelain crown is similar in all usages compared to a veneer. The differences may be that the anterior teeth that have large fillings are not a candidate for a veneer due to lack of supporting tooth structure.
A porcelain crown is a non-metal crown that has lifelike characteristics and enhances a beautiful smile.

TOOTH REMOVAL
Hopefully this subject will not be looked at by many people. Our job as dental professionals is to help you maintain a healthy mouth, therefore not extracting any teeth. In the worst cases, a tooth may become fractured and need to come out. Our team has all the necessary tools to make this procedure as painless as possible.

MISSING TOOTH OPTIONS
Missing teeth can lead to all kinds of problems if not replaced: malocclusion, super-eruption of opposing teeth, TMJ issues, biting cheeks, and the “sunken face” look.
Several procedures can be performed to help with this. One, already mentioned, was a fixed bridge. Others consist of implants, removable partials, and dentures.

IMPLANTS
Dental Implants are a great way to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. Implants are screws that are positioned into the jaw bone, on top of which a crown is placed, making the tooth ready for function.
With an implant, there is a healing phase that sometimes can take up to six months before the final restoration is placed. Still, this is the best way to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth.

REMOVABLE PARTIALS
If several teeth on both sides to the jaws are missing then a removable partial may be the way to go. The metal-based appliance is removable; it comes in and out of your mouth. These are very affordable and a good alternative, as opposed to having nothing.

DENTURES
Sometimes if care has not been a high priority throughout life, our teeth may be lost to decay, periodontal disease, or an accident. Dentures are false teeth and replace your natural teeth. They will certainly improve your function and your appearance but they will never replace your natural teeth.
No matter how bad you think your teeth are, only a thorough examination from your dental professional can prepare you for this procedure.
Implant Dentistry
Bring back your smile with dental implants — a strong, natural looking solution for missing teeth.
Dental implants are a popular way to replace missing teeth and restore your smile. They look, feel, and work just like real teeth, giving you the confidence to eat, speak, and smile without worry.
Benefits of Dental Implants:
-
✅ Look and feel like natural teeth
-
✅ Stay securely in place — no slipping
-
✅ Help maintain your facial shape
-
✅ Make eating and talking easier
-
✅ A long-term solution you can count on

Solutions for Replacing Multiple or All Teeth
If you’re missing several teeth — or even all of them — we offer advanced full-mouth options that go beyond traditional dentures.
Implant-Retained Dentures
Implant-retained dentures are a more secure, comfortable alternative to traditional dentures. A few implants are placed in the jawbone to hold your denture firmly in place. This means:
-
No more slipping or clicking
-
Improved stability when speaking and eating
-
Smaller, more natural-feeling denture design
They can be removable or fixed, depending on your needs and preferences.
All-on-X Implants (e.g., All-on-4, All-on-6)
All-on-X is a modern approach to full-mouth restoration using just 4 to 6 implants to support a full set of fixed teeth. It’s ideal for patients who want a permanent, non-removable option that looks and functions just like a natural set of teeth.
Benefits of All-on-X:
-
✅ Fewer implants needed
-
✅ Often allows for same-day teeth
-
✅ No need for messy adhesives
-
✅ Easy to care for, just like real teeth
-
✅ Great for people who have lost bone in the jaw
